School Extension

We are in the process of emabrking on an extension of our school. Presently, P.J. Newell, the engineer and Project Supervisor appointed by the Board of Management, is in the process of selecting a contractor for the project. This project includes:
  1. Building 2 new classrooms
  2. Converting the existing 2 classrooms into a General Purpose Room
  3. Office, staff room, resource room.

This will make a significant difference to our school- on a number of horizons- more space especailly for new curiculum, equipment and resources.

This initiative has been funded by the Department of Education.

However, with the cost of construction this may have to be augmented, so therefore we invite any business people or past- pupils at home or abroad who may wish to financially support our extension to contact us- we would really appreciate it.

Cashel, as you know , is a small rural, disadvantaged 2 teacher school, set in a very scenic area of Connemara- overlooking Cashel Bay and adjacent to Cashel House Hotel. A primary school in any community is the heart and soul of a communty and lays the foundation for the fture of so many people. Therefore, to provide the very best education and opportunities for our pupils we continuously endeavour to educate our pupils to the highest standard possible in a comfortable, safe and enticing enviroment.

Remember the old Irish adage- "Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na ndaoine"-
